National Bank warned Kazakhstanis about new fraud
Attackers are trying to gain remote access to the victim's smartphone
Fraudsters have started deceiving Kazakhstanis by posing as employees of the digital government service or banking organizations, and sending messages about the issuance of a so-called "digital power of attorney" or about third parties obtaining a loan. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

The potential victim is offered to call a number to cancel the power of attorney or block a credit card or an application for funds. If a citizen contacts the specified numbers, they are persuaded to provide bank card details or grant remote access to their phone. As a result, attackers can steal funds from bank accounts.
If you encounter fraudulent activities, we strongly recommend that you contact the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a corresponding statement.
The regulator reminded that employees of banking organizations, law enforcement officers, and civil servants never request such data and do not offer to transfer money to "safe accounts". Upon receiving such messages, you should contact the bank's contact center or the digital government service.
