Who will go to South Korea: Astana selects the best engineers to represent Kazakhstan at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026
Almost 40 teams are participating in the competition
Schoolchildren presented engineering projects in robotics at the FIRST Global Challenge Central Asia 2026 championship, which is taking place from August 24 to 26 at the Kazakh National University of Sports in Astana. The winners of this stage will go to the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 world championship in South Korea in October.

The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Digital Development of Kazakhstan reported that about 40 teams from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are participating in the competition. This year's championship theme is the application of robotics to prevent forest fires. Young engineers must develop robots and program them to perform specific tasks.

The winner of the national selection will have the right to represent Kazakhstan at the world championship, which will bring together schoolchildren from more than 190 countries.
Contestants will work in international teams, uniting to solve global technological challenges.
Participation in the FIRST Global Challenge in 2026 is very important for Kazakhstan. From 2022 to 2025, the republic's team became the winner of the championship. Kazakhstani schoolchildren maintain a high standard. Prize-winners and winners of this competition can apply for the Bolashak international scholarship in the "bachelor's degree" category.
