Kazakhstani Students Win Mabuchi Motor Award at Robotics Championship in Hong Kong
The jury recognized the originality of engineering solutions
The BULAN student team from Nazarbaev University received the Mabuchi Motor Award at the international robotics championship ABU Robocon 2026, held in Hong Kong. Representatives from 21 countries participated in the competition, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

The Mabuchi Motor Award is given for the originality of engineering solutions, the quality of mechanical design, and the effective integration of mechanical, electronic, and software components.
Kazakhstani roboticists returned to the championship after a seven-year hiatus. The BULAN team, competing for victory, consisted of 28 students studying mechanics, electronics, programming, design, and project management.

The Mabuchi Motor Award was established by the Japanese small electric motor manufacturer Mabuchi Motor. It is presented to young engineers who have demonstrated an original approach to design. BULAN's achievement testifies to the development of Kazakhstani robotics and the competitiveness of its students at the global level.
