Emine Erdoğan Attends Opening of Scientific Laboratory at KATIU

The center will focus on resource conservation and the implementation of "green" technologies

The International Laboratory "Waste Management" has been opened at Seifullin University (KATIU). The project was implemented with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended the solemn ceremony. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

I sincerely believe that the laboratory will pave the way for important initiatives in the areas of zero waste, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and the circular economy.

The wife of the Turkish leader emphasized that this initiative will contribute to strengthening ties between the two countries.

Directions of the new laboratory's work

The center will focus on practice-oriented training for students in the following areas:

  • ecology
  • environmental management
  • agroecosystems

Students will gain skills in separate collection, sorting, processing, and disposal of waste. The laboratory will develop solutions for resource conservation and the implementation of "green" technologies in the economy of Kazakhstan.

An exhibition of achievements by Seifullin University scientists was also presented during the event. Emine Erdoğan familiarized herself with promising scientific projects.
