International AI Hackathon HackAlem AI in Astana Entered the Guinness Book of Records
More than 2000 people participated in it
The international HackAlem AI-2026 hackathon in Astana surpassed Agentathon 2025 in India in terms of participants and entered the Guinness Book of Records. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORD judge Glenn Pollard stated that 2089 people participated in the hackathon in India, while 2415 people participated in Kazakhstan.
We only counted those who actually participated in the hackathon, met the necessary conditions, and remained on site for the established time.
The head of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, stated that this is a confirmation of the republic's high technological potential. HackAlem AI brought together thousands of developers, students, and young specialists. The projects they created should be developed and implemented into the economy, the minister emphasized.
This result shows that Kazakhstan is capable not only of participating in the global technological agenda but also of shaping it.
The AI hackathon took place on September 23. Its participants developed projects in 10 areas, including logistics, education, energy, finance, and trade. They were given access to resources from OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Arizona State University.
The IT competition was among the events of AI Month, dedicated to AI, digital technologies, and cybersecurity. They are held with the support of Astana Hub.
