Foreign companies to build powerful data center in Kazakhstan
Agreement signed on the sidelines of GITEX AI forum in Almaty
Zhaslan Madiyev, Head of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the management of Dornan Engineering Group and JMOT04 on the sidelines of the GITEX AI forum in Almaty. The agreement provides for the construction of a data center, the ministry's press service reported.
This involves the construction of a Tier III–Tier IV complex. The planned capacity of the data center will be from 50 to 200 MW. The estimated investment volume is valued at 1-1.5 billion dollars.
In addition, a gas power plant with a capacity of up to 250 MW will appear next to the data center. Up to 400 million dollars will be spent on its construction. This project is being implemented by Ample Solution Limited.
Madiyev stated that the republic has a unique geographical location and competitive electricity costs.
These factors form a stable basis for hosting international data processing centers and developing digital infrastructure.
Currently, the parties to the deal are choosing a site for the future data center.
