National Archive of Medical Images to Appear in Kazakhstan

The project will be implemented with the support of Royal Philips

The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiev, discussed with representatives of Royal Philips the creation of the National Archive of Medical Images (VNA), as well as the introduction of AI in medicine. This was reported in the press service of the department.

The VNA (Vendor-Neutral Archive) project aims to consolidate medical images (CT, MRI, ultrasound) from all medical organizations in the country into a single system.

Thus, all data will be stored in one place. These images can be used to train Kazakhstani AI startups and improve diagnostic methods.

Representatives of Royal Philips stated that they would provide their technologies. In addition, the foreign side offers to finance the project through Philips Capital and international funds.

The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiev, noted that the creation of VNA will give impetus to digital medicine. The authorities of the republic welcome the desire of world technological leaders who are ready to integrate their developments into the medical ecosystem of Kazakhstan, he stressed.

The press service of the ministry added that the meeting also discussed the opening of a laboratory or R&D center on the basis of the International AI Center in Astana. This platform can be used to launch educational programs and organize the acceleration of AI startups in the healthcare sector.
