The capsule laying ceremony took place at the construction site of the "Mirny" wind power plant (WPP) in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. This was reported by the press service of "KazMunayGas".
The project is being implemented jointly by "KazMunayGas", "Samruk-Energo" and the energy company TotalEnergies within the framework of a strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of "KazMunayGas" Kazbek Kusainov stated that the WPP is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan. The station will increase the reliability of the energy system in the south of the country. With the commissioning of the facility, the share of renewable energy sources will increase.
About "Mirny" WPP
The 1 GW station will be built in the Moiynkum district. The facility will feature an advanced energy storage system.
1.2 billion euros will be allocated for the implementation of the project, most of which is foreign capital. The WPP will be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2028.
