Young scientists at Satbayev University have developed a method that makes it possible to increase agricultural crop yields without the use of fertilizers and pesticides. They created a complex of beneficial microorganisms, FSQN, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education reported.

The new development ensures stable results under various soil and climatic conditions.

The scientists tested a synthetic microbial community of 4 bacteria in rice fields in the Almaty region. The results confirmed that the root system of the plants became 20-25% stronger.

Project leader Bekzhan Kosalbaev explained that individual bacterial strains do not produce a stable effect. Therefore, the researchers combined 4 microorganisms. In this combination, they improved the mineral nutrition of plants and increased their resistance to adverse environmental factors.

At the next stage, nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria were included in the community, as a result of which the synthetic microbial community NFJK was formed.
