A cluster for the production of medical implants and other projects are being developed on the basis of EKTU
Senate Chairman Ashimbayev was presented with advanced developments
Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev visited D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU). At the university, he was shown leading developments by students and young scientists, the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan reported.
Ashimbayev was presented with the project "Medical Cluster" for the production of medical implants and instruments for orthopedics and traumatology, and oncology. It was created on the basis of EKTU.
Technologies have been developed for the production of 20 types of implants and 7 types of medical instruments. Implants developed and produced at the university have already been installed in 150 patients.
The project has now reached a new level - specialists are setting up full-cycle production of implants. This will reduce import dependence for this type of medical equipment.
In addition, the Senate Chairman familiarized himself with the work of the scientific center "Protective and Functional Coatings." It is engaged in the development of surface engineering and powder metallurgy. Scientists apply gas-thermal spraying, chemical-thermal treatment, and powder spheroidization technologies.

- Autopilot systems and intelligent road infrastructure management systems from the Lu Ban Workshop
Following the demonstration, Ashimbayev stated that the university's activities are practice-oriented and focused on the introduction of modern technologies.
