Scientists at Satbayev University have developed a vibration platform that can increase the seismic resistance of buildings. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

The project is of particular importance for cities located in an area of increased seismic activity.

The specialists used parallel manipulators in active seismic protection systems. This technology provides for the automatic activation of the system during an earthquake, which will record vibrations and compensate for their impact on the structure.

Project leader Kuanysh Abzhaparov stated that, unlike passive seismic protection methods, their system responds promptly to external impacts. As part of the project, the specialists presented an experimental prototype of the vibration platform.

The development underwent a series of tests and confirmed the researchers' calculations. The scientists have now submitted their project for a grant competition. In the future, they plan to put the system into operation.
