Rescuers from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations near Almaty carried out a set of preventive measures aimed at protecting residents, tourists, and infrastructure from avalanches. This was reported by the agency's press service.

In order to prevent the spontaneous descent of snow masses, a preventive avalanche release was carried out using the modern DaisyBell gas-dynamic system.

DaisyBell is a portable system mounted beneath a helicopter. The unit helps detonate a gas mixture at a safe height above the snow cover. The shock wave triggers a snow avalanche.

Rescuers worked in the basins of the Kishi Almaty and Kotyrbulak rivers. As a result of the operation, safety was ensured on the "Shymbulak – Tuyuksu" route, on the territory of the Shymbulak ski resort in the area of Shkolnik Peak, and at the Ski park Pioneer resort.

In total, about 83 thousand square meters of snow came down. This made it possible to reduce the risk of emergencies.
