Advanced technologies, including AI, will help drive economic development. This opinion was expressed by Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov in his speech at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.

Delegations from more than 50 countries around the world gathered at the summit venue, including heads of state and government, as well as AI experts. Bektenov spoke at the plenary session, describing the impact of AI on global economic growth.

We are convinced that intelligence must be inclusive, sovereign and, most importantly, transformative for key sectors of the economy.

The head of government stated that Kazakhstan is now becoming a regional digital hub. AI has become a strategic pillar of national development, he added.

Bektenov addressed the leadership of international technology companies, inviting them to cooperate.

Digitalization results in Kazakhstan:

  • The law "On Artificial Intelligence" has been adopted
  • The AI Development Council under the President has been established
  • 2 supercomputer clusters have been deployed
  • Construction of the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic line has begun
  • The Data Center Valley project is being implemented in Ekibastuz
