Robot courier made first delivery in Almaty
Yandex Qazaqstan demonstrated the rover's capabilities
The Yandex Qazaqstan robot made its first delivery of goods in Almaty. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, was present at the test launch of the rover, the press service of the department reported.
Representatives of Yandex Qazaqstan showed how the robot navigates in an urban environment. The rover builds a route, recognizes obstacles and bypasses them, and chooses a safe trajectory.
The robot's operation was also demonstrated in interaction with traffic lights, crossing the road, and moving in urban infrastructure conditions.
Authorities in Kazakhstan have already formed rules for the implementation of a pilot project for the introduction of autonomous transport. The republic is allowed to test unmanned technologies in real conditions.
At the end of July 2026, robot courier delivery was launched in pilot mode in the Yesil district of Astana. Residents were offered to receive goods purchased in Yandex Lavka for free.
