Poland to help KazdorNII implement BIM technologies in bridge design

The Kazakhstan Road Research Institute ("KazdorNII") plans to expand international cooperation. The institute has signed agreements with leading Polish specialized organizations for joint design, digitalization, and updating of the regulatory and technical framework in Kazakhstan's bridge industry. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.

The main partners of KazdorNII will be the Road and Bridge Research Institute of Poland and the company Mosty Gdansk. The research institute will help adapt standard bridge designs to Kazakhstan's conditions. The Gdansk company will focus on creating digital twins of bridges and providing expertise in the development of new engineering structures.

The main technological priority will be the implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies. The use of end-to-end digital modeling will allow engineers to identify design errors before construction begins, increase the accuracy of cost estimates, and reduce the implementation time of infrastructure projects through the automation of routine processes.

In addition to design, the parties agreed to modernize approaches to the operation of existing facilities. Plans include the introduction of modern methods for monitoring the technical condition of bridges, the creation of predictive maintenance systems (forecasting structural wear), and the improvement of engineering structure management throughout their life cycle.

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan believes that the development of international partnership is necessary not only for exchanging experience but also for adapting advanced global practices to Kazakhstan's conditions.
