Digital control is being implemented in Kazakhstan for cancer patients
Medical organizations will monitor compliance with diagnostic and therapy deadlines
The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has updated the Standard for the organization of oncological care. The new approach will allow real-time monitoring of compliance with the deadlines for diagnosis, examination, and therapy of patients with suspected cancer. This was reported by the press service of the department.
The goal is not to change the procedure for patients to receive medical care, but to increase the efficiency of the oncology service and strengthen quality control at all stages.
The key innovation is digital monitoring of the patient's progress through all stages of the "green corridor". Medical organizations will be able to promptly identify delays and provide assistance.
Yerbol Bekmukhametov, Chief Freelance Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, stated that the updated Standard will improve the quality of medical care for cancer patients. All types of diagnostics and treatment are provided to patients free of charge.
In 2025, the rate of early cancer detection exceeded 34%, the availability of radiation therapy increased to 65%, and mortality from malignant neoplasms decreased by 14%.
The authorities in Kazakhstan are actively implementing digitalization in the healthcare sector. With its help, important tasks are being solved: queues are reduced, the burden on doctors is decreased, and financing becomes transparent.
