Able to accommodate Airbus and Boeing aircraft: Aktau Airport apron 90% complete
The air harbor will be fully reconstructed in 2026
Workers continue the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Aktau International Airport. The apron (part of the airfield intended for aircraft parking) is 90% complete. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.
The airport continues its operations. As part of the second stage of modernization, a new perimeter fence and additional lighting are being installed. All work will be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year.
The first stage was completed in July 2025. At that time, the runway and taxiway were reconstructed.
The project implementation will improve flight safety, expand and strengthen aircraft parking areas, and enable the servicing of heavy cargo aircraft.
After the upgrade, Aktau Airport will be able to accommodate all types of aircraft, including Category F. These are passenger and cargo liners with a wingspan of up to 80 m. This category includes Airbus A380-800, Boeing 747-8.
