The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, visited the International Artificial Intelligence Center Alem.ai during his visit to Astana. He was presented with a number of advanced projects, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan reported.

The head of the department, Zhaslan Madiyev, was present at the meeting. Christodoulides and members of the Cypriot delegation were shown a comprehensive AI platform for managing the urban infrastructure of Astana Smart City. The project is being implemented by Presight and the Akimat of Astana.

The European guests were shown how the integration of big data and artificial intelligence technologies allows for real-time improvement of the efficiency of urban services and the quality of life in the capital.

The President of Cyprus also expressed interest in practical scenarios for the application of artificial intelligence, including for optimizing traffic flows and ensuring security.

The leadership of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus. The document provides for the development of joint projects in the field of information technology, AI, as well as e-government, cybersecurity, and space activities.
