Russian "InnoSpector" drone built 3D models of ore passes in Kazakhstan mines
The industrial drone was tested in 4 mines
The "InnoSpector" drone, developed in Innopolis, was tested in 4 mines in Kazakhstan. The device surveyed the mine workings and built 3D models of the ore passes, the press service of the science city reported.
The drone's pilot operation was carried out at a gold mining mine, two Kazakhmys mines in Zhezkazgan, and a deposit in the Aktobe region. In total, "InnoSpector" performed 9 flights at a depth of up to 900 m.
The drones operated without GPS due to SLAM navigation (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). The obtained data will be used by industrialists for planning mining operations and assessing ore passes. 3D models will also help prevent emergency situations.
The weight of "InnoSpector" is 3.5 kg. The Innopolis development is already used by large mining enterprises.
