Internet with speeds up to 100 Mbps available on Talgo trains in Kazakhstan

Internet with speeds up to 100 Mbps is being introduced on trains in Kazakhstan. The project is being implemented using satellite technologies, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic reported.

Satellite internet is available on Talgo trains operating on two key routes: Astana – Almaty and Astana – Ust-Kamenogorsk, using OneWeb non-geostationary satellite systems with the participation of the operator Jusan Mobile.

The satellite signal does not depend on ground-based towers. The connection works thanks to low-orbit spacecraft, which provide a stable connection even when the train is moving.

Passengers on Talgo trains can use messengers, video services and other digital services throughout the trip. The service became available in January 2025. In the future, it will be provided on trains on other routes.
