New methods for obtaining MXene materials tested at Satbayev University

Modified two-dimensional nanomaterials have high electrical conductivity

Scientists at Satbayev University conducted a series of tests on modified two-dimensional nanomaterials with high electrical conductivity MXene. They are called the basis for promising energy storage devices. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

Researchers tested new methods for producing MXene materials, as well as methods for modifying them using silicon and activated carbon.

At Satbayev University, the electrochemical characteristics of the obtained nanomaterials were studied. It turned out that they have a higher specific capacity than activated carbon.

Project manager Kalizhan Shakenov said that MXene can be used in the creation of new generation energy storage devices.

Scientists have created an experimental sample of a new material, it has passed laboratory tests. Further large-scale tests are planned. The technology can be implemented in various fields of production.
