Authorities in Kazakhstan continue a large-scale upgrade of the road network. At the end of 2025, a record 13 thousand km were built and repaired, the press service of the republic's government reported.
Thus, 94% of republican roads are in a standard technical condition. In addition, work is underway to modernize checkpoints (CP) on the border. By the end of 2027, 37 CPs will be updated, the press service added.
A separate emphasis is placed on the digitalization of the road industry.
Digital road passports are being created in Kazakhstan as part of the e-Joldar program to ensure accounting for:
- technical condition
- traffic intensity
- road network operating parameters
Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies help diagnose the road surface. The safety of roads is also ensured by automated measuring stations (AMS, which control the passage of freight transport). 73 stations out of 220 have been installed.
