Kazakhstan received orders for 100 billion tenge after Russia's withdrawal from three TPPs

Part of the components for thermal power plants will be supplied by enterprises of the republic

Kazakhstani enterprises can receive orders for more than 100 billion tenge just for the construction of a new TPP in Kokshetau after energy projects come under the control of Chinese contractors. This was announced by Kairat Maksutov, Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Energy".

According to him, this refers to the supply of metal structures, pipe products, cables, wire products, electrical equipment, and elements of boiler installations.

The share of Kazakhstani content, I think, should reach up to 30%.

Previously, thermal power plants in Kokshetau, Semey, and Ust-Kamenogorsk were planned to be built jointly with Russia. However, now the projects are being implemented with the participation of a Kazakhstani-Singaporean consortium, and the main equipment for the stations will be supplied from China.

It should be noted that the three TPPs with the participation of the consortium are estimated at 700 billion tenge, which is almost twice cheaper than previous estimates for construction with the Russian Federation (1.26 trillion tenge).
