The Central Asian Mission of the C909 Flying Hospital "Ophthalmology and ENT Health" has opened in Almaty. It was organized as part of the global initiative "Air Silk Road of Health". This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

The project is being implemented for the first time in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. It is aimed at developing international cooperation in the fields of medicine, science, and higher education.

The ceremony was attended by the leadership of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU), representatives of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty, and heads of state bodies of Kazakhstan.

Bakytzhan Omarov, a member of the KazNU Board, stated that the flying hospital project "will give new impetus to cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of medicine, science, and higher education."

The C909 Flying Hospital is the world's first specialized aircraft with medical equipment on board. It features ophthalmological and otorhinolaryngological devices, operating rooms, and telemedicine systems with AI technologies for diagnosing eye diseases. The hospital can perform operations and provide rehabilitation for patients.
