Students at the Heriot-Watt University campus developed the Virtual Health Control app to monitor a patient\'s health. It was showcased at HealTech 2026 at K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University (ARU), the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan reported.

Artificial intelligence technologies were integrated into the \"Virtual Health Guardian\" app. The program tracks the user\'s health indicators, including:

  • heart rate
  • blood pressure
  • body water level
  • blood sugar level
  • daily activity

Virtual Health Control includes a function for automatically sending a notification to the attending physician if serious changes are detected in the patient\'s body. In addition, the app has a button to call emergency medical assistance.

AI gives the user health recommendations. The project\'s authors plan to adapt it for smartwatches. With the help of the gadget, the patient will be able to stay in touch with the doctor.
