The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan plans to expand the toll road network through the upgraded section of the “Aktobe – Kandagash” road from km 11 to km 100 (part of the “Kandagash – Makat” toll highway). This was reported by the agency's press service.
The toll rates will be differentiated. On the section from km 11 to km 87 of “Aktobe – Kandagash”, drivers of all types of vehicles, including passenger cars, will pay a toll. From km 87 to km 100 and further along the “Kandagash – Makat” highway, tolls will be charged only to drivers of buses and trucks.
How much to pay
The cost depends on the vehicle category, its load capacity, distance traveled, and payment method. Residents of nearby districts were promised discounted passes (priced at 1 MCI). For drivers of local buses and trucks, the rate will be up to 5 MCI per month or from 12 to 60 MCI per year, depending on the category.
Where the money will go
The press service of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan stated that all collected funds will be directed to maintenance and repair of road infrastructure, as well as the purchase of specialized machinery. The changes will take effect 10 days after the official publication of the order.
