A strategic cooperation agreement between Kazakhstan and the Chinese company Agibot was signed during the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Shanghai. The document outlines the development of advanced areas of robotics and the introduction of innovations, said Vladislav Safarov, CEO of Qazbot Technologies, at the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 exhibition.
Our goal is to create a new robotics industry in Kazakhstan.
In the first phase of the project, a regional robotics development hub will be built in Astana. It will produce 3 lines of products: humanoid robots, RobotDogs, and service robots for shopping centers, hotels, and guesthouses, Safarov noted.
A pilot project with information robots will also be launched in Astana and Almaty. They will be installed at light rail transport (LRT) facilities and in social institutions, the top manager concluded.
Recall that the construction of the Robotics & AI complex in Astana began in August 2026. Investments in the first phase are estimated at 200 million dollars. The complex will have its own R&D center.
