The Head of the Ministry of Industry and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, participated in a meeting on the development of telecommunications infrastructure and ensuring radio signal coverage for republican and regional highways. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
Representatives of "Transtelecom" and mobile operators also participated in the event. Issues of interaction between the investor and telecommunications companies regarding the joint operation of the new infrastructure were discussed.
Special attention was paid to coordinating efforts to ensure stable mobile communication coverage on highways.
The project envisages covering over 40 thousand km of roads with mobile communications. It includes the installation of more than 500 antenna-mast structures and base stations.
The first stage of work (covering republican roads) will be completed by the end of this year. On regional roads, the necessary infrastructure will appear by the end of 2027.
The investor is "Transtelecom". The authorities do not plan to allocate budget funds for the project's implementation.
