Experts found areas in Alatau and Konaev without mobile internet access

Operators will install new base stations

Employees of the Telecommunications Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, together with representatives of communication operators, checked mobile internet in the cities of Alatau and Konaev in the Almaty region. This was reported by the press service of the department.

In Alatau, 28 "white spots" were identified – areas where there is no access to mobile internet. Operators plan to eliminate them by the end of 2026. Companies will install 5 base stations to expand coverage, including along highways.

In the city of Konaev, 9 "white spots" were identified. Kar-Tel promised to eliminate 7 of them within a month.

Work to provide the population with high-quality mobile communication is also carried out within the framework of the operators' license obligations.

In accordance with this, 3,807 rural settlements with a population of more than 250 people will be provided with mobile communication. In the village of Shengeldі, infrastructure for a 5G network was installed at the initiative of the operator OOO Mobile Telecom-Service.

As of September 2026, telecommunications companies have fulfilled their basic license obligations for 5G deployment in cities and have begun this work in villages. In parallel, they are eliminating "white spots" in settlements where there are areas without coverage.
