Platform for modeling air routes developed in Kazakhstan
Echelon Alpha and the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan have developed a digital system to optimize civil aviation routes and assess the commercial effectiveness of flights. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.
The system allows analyzing demand by direction, forecasting transit potential, and modeling a prospective route network.
Rakhman Asambayev, founder of Echelon Alpha, stated that the analytical model was built based on 170 carrier reports and a data array of 200 million flights over 5 years.
The development takes into account the following indicators:
- regional macroeconomics
- population size
- consumer preferences
- business activity
- event calendar
The platform processes information from open databases and commercial sources. The forecasting accuracy is 90%, Asambayev summarized.
Kazakhstan has about 10 active airlines operating commercial, regular, regional, or cargo transportation. The largest of them is Air Astana.
