Drones and robotic platforms developed by students of Kazakh universities were showcased at the Shaiqas 2026 championship
Student teams from leading universities in Kazakhstan presented their IT developments at the Shaiqas 2026 military engineering championship in Akmola region. Young specialists demonstrated their level of technical training and knowledge in solving practical problems. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

In total, more than 100 teams from all over the country applied to participate in the Shaiqas 2026 championship in 2026. After selection, the 20 strongest teams reached the final, including teams from Nazarbayev University, Gumilyov ENU, Satpayev KNTU, Daukeev AUES, Woosong University Kazakhstan, ALT University, SDU University.

Students showcased robotics samples, drones, and autonomous ground platforms. Developers tested their products outside of training grounds – in conditions as close to real as possible.

In addition, the teams had the opportunity to interact with representatives of the military, industrial, and technological sectors, receive professional feedback, and assess the prospects for further development of their projects.
The championship promotes the development of engineering thinking, entrepreneurial approach, and technological competencies among young people. In addition, the platform helps strengthen ties between universities and the defense sector.
