Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport has amended the procedure for charging tolls on the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD) for drivers of various vehicle categories. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The main change is that for users who pay for their travel on time, the cost of the trip will not change.
If the driver paid for the BAKAD toll in advance or within 7 days after the trip, the fare will range from 0.07 MRP (302.75 tenge) to 0.22 MRP (951.5 tenge) depending on the vehicle category (VC).
Basic tariffs apply if the trip was paid for later than the seven-day period. They will increase to 0.14 MRP (605.5 tenge) to 0.44 MRP (1903 tenge) depending on the VC category.
The press service of the agency explained that the changes are aimed at improving drivers' payment discipline. At the same time, benefits are retained for motorists from Talgar, Karasai, and Ili districts of Almaty region. The order of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan on new tariffs comes into force on August 16, 2026.
