The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan is implementing the digitalization of the country's fuel and energy complex (FEC). The procedure for connecting to gas networks has already been moved online, the ministry's press service reported.
Approximately 80%, or about 95 thousand out of 120 thousand annual applications for technical specifications (TS), are processed online. QazaqGaz Aimaq is the only natural monopoly entity that provides the service for issuing technical specifications online.
Kazakhstani citizens can obtain TS through the eGov portal and the eGov Mobile application. The document is issued within the legally established period: from 5 to 10 days.
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan plans to digitize the process of connecting to gas distribution networks, including tapping and gas commissioning. QazaqGaz Aimaq will automate these services in 2027.
Currently, the service has been implemented in pilot mode in Astana. The service will also be launched in Almaty and Atyrau region by the end of 2027. Then the project will be scaled up to the entire territory of the republic.
