International Forum on Smart City Development to be Held in Astana in 2026

Kazakhstan Signed an Agreement with the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance

The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding with the international organization Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance (DEC40) to develop Smart region / Smart city projects and artificial intelligence technologies. This was reported by the press service of the agency.

DEC40 unites technology companies and scientific organizations to promote advanced digital solutions in the field of smart cities. The cooperation involves attracting world-class developers to Kazakhstan and exchanging best practices in urban digital transformation.

In addition, an international forum on Smart City will be held in Astana in 2026 with the participation of DEC40 members, experts, and investors.

The forum will become a platform for presenting regional projects, holding B2G and B2B meetings, discussing financing mechanisms, and implementing modern digital solutions.

Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, stated that the agreement with DEC40 opens up access to new investment opportunities for the republic. At the same time, the authorities' task is to create conditions in which every region of Kazakhstan will implement its own AI Native City projects, the official concluded.
