Cable-powered multicopter developed at Satbayev University

Prototype tested in the air

Employees of Satbayev University have developed a cable-powered multicopter platform for prolonged operation in the air. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.

Master's and doctoral students of the university developed a mathematical model, created a prototype, and conducted test flights. The results confirmed the drone's designed characteristics.

The scientists also developed an inverter power supply system with a high switching frequency and a significant voltage conversion ratio.

Thanks to this project, the scientists gained important scientific and technical experience and experimental data for further development of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Where the multicopter can be used:

  • telecommunications
  • environmental monitoring
  • search and rescue operations
  • protection of strategic facilities

The project's scientific director, Kyrmyzy Taysariyeva, stated that this is an important step in the development of Kazakh engineering science and UAV technologies. The scientists plan to improve the platform.
