Astana Motors and Volvo Group have signed a memorandum of cooperation, providing for the preparation of Volvo truck production in the republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan.
The agreement was signed on June 12 during a meeting of the Kazakh-Swedish Bilateral Commission on Trade, Economic, and Investment Cooperation. The event took place in Astana.
The ministry noted that in the first stage, they plan to establish the production of Volvo FH13 tractor units. These trucks are designed for long-haul transportation. Additionally, the production of Volvo FMX13 vehicles is possible. These are actively used in industry and on construction sites.
Last year, Volvo Trucks opened its first service station in Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the republic is confident that the launch of production will take the partnership between the two countries to a new level.
