393 Trip Optimizer intelligent automated train control system complexes have been installed on the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) network. A total of 425 systems are planned for integration. This was reported by the national carrier's press service.
The equipping of the remaining locomotives is planned to be completed by the end of July 2026 at service centers in Aktobe, Makat, Sekseul, and Ayagoz.
The Trip Optimizer program operates on the principle of cruise control. It calculates the optimal train control mode, taking into account the following parameters:
- track profile
- train mass
- locomotive characteristics
- speed limits
The system improves fuel efficiency and ensures adherence to the rolling stock schedule. In addition, Trip Optimizer simplifies the work of locomotive crews.
In total, 48 out of 65 locomotive operating sections with the implemented Trip Optimizer system have been put into industrial operation. Simultaneously, KTZ is preparing a digital map of routes. As of the end of May, 9,675 out of 10,000 km of track have been included in it.
