Since the beginning of 2026, over 28 thousand passengers have purchased tickets through the "Waiting List" service. In total, from January to May, more than 84 thousand vacant seats were offered. This was reported by the press service of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ).
The service allows you to register for an electronic queue when there are no seats available on the desired train.
If any passenger cancels their ticket, another will receive a notification in their personal account and an SMS about the need to purchase a ticket.
Applications are accepted through the website bilet.railways.kz and the ticket offices of "Passenger Transportation" JSC. An order can be placed no earlier than 7 days and no later than 1 hour before the train's departure. Algorithms protect the system from mass ticket purchases.
Recall that the "Waiting List" service was introduced in 2019. During this time, 2.4 million tickets were offered to passengers, of which 872 thousand were purchased.
