The number of video surveillance cameras in Astana has doubled

The equipment helps develop the city's transport system

The Astana Traffic Management Center (TMC) operates the intelligent transport system ITS, ensuring safety on the city's roads. The system integrates 582 traffic lights out of 818. This was stated by the city's akim, Zhenis Kassymbek.

In Astana, 456 thousand vehicles are registered, while another approximately 50 thousand are not officially listed in the database. Every year, the number of cars in the city increases by 10%.

According to Kassymbek, the TMC coordinates parking, traffic flows, traffic lights, and vehicle towing. In 2026, all traffic lights will be integrated into the system.

Work on installing new traffic lights continues in the capital. Together with Presight AI Ltd, the modernization of the video surveillance infrastructure is underway.
