From April 2026, Kazakhstanis will be able to replace their driver's license via the eGov.kz portal and the eGov Mobile mobile application, even after its expiration date. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.
Previously, the service was provided online only if there was a valid document in case of loss, theft, or change of name.
The innovation applies to all categories of driver's licenses. For users who have undergone a medical examination, the information will be automatically uploaded from state information systems at the time of application.
If a citizen renews their driver's license in advance, a medical examination is not required. The service will be provided in just 1 hour.
To do this, the user needs to log in to the eGov.kz portal and go to the "Citizens" – "Transport and Communications" – "Road Transport" section. The photo can be used from a previously issued document. The finished certificate will be sent to the nearest PSC.
