In Kazakhstan, road works will cover over 11,000 km of roads of various levels this year. This was announced by Vice Minister Maksat Kaliakparov at a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic.
As part of the road construction season, construction, reconstruction and repair will cover 8.9 thousand km of roads of republican significance and 2.3 thousand km of roads of the local network.
In addition, workers will complete work on 3.5 thousand km of roads, including the reconstruction and construction of new highways. Medium repairs will be made on 2 thousand km of roads of republican significance.
By the end of 2026, up to 95% of the roads of the republican network and up to 92% of the local network will be brought to a standard condition.
What projects are planned for the current year:
- start of reconstruction of the road in the direction of Kyzylorda – Aktobe with expansion to 4 lanes
- start of construction and installation works on the Karaganda – Zhezkazgan road
- implementation of the Beineu – Saksaulsky project with a length of 559 km
- bypass of the city of Saryagash with a length of 102 km (contractors have already been identified)
- development of toll road sections
- expansion of roadside infrastructure
- widespread introduction of digital tools
